The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) announced today that the friendly between Portugal Y Spain and the party of Nations League against Sweden which will be held in Lisbon on October 7 and 14 will have an audience in the stands.
In a statement, the FPF explained that it has been authorized that the friendly with Spain is carried out with 5% of the stadium capacity Jose Alvalade, about 2,500 people.
For the party with Sweden, a week later, a capacity of 10% of José Alvalade is authorized, about 5,000 people.
This decision comes after several work meetings held in recent weeks between government, the General Directorate of Health (DGS) and the Federation, to evaluate the return of the public to the stadiums.
After the two games, the FPF will make “a detailed report that will be analyzed by the Health Authority for an eventual authorization of the presence of the public in football matches in continental Portugal, of extreme social and economic importance “, says the Federation.
These two matches will be the first to be held with an audience in the continental territory of Portugal since March, when the pandemic forced a halt to all competitions, but the fans will arrive before the island stands.
The Portuguese League will do a pilot test this Saturday in the first division match between the Santa Clara and Gil Vicente, where 10% of the stadium's capacity will be São Miguel (about a thousand people), in the Azores archipelago.
In AzoresAs it is an autonomous region, the authorization belongs to the regional health authority instead of the Portuguese DGS, and in the archipelago sports events with the public are allowed.
