Portugal urgently calls Rui Silva and Bravo does not go with Chile

The Betis goalkeeper Rui Silva He has been summoned at the last minute by the Portuguese coach, Fernando Santos, in view of the Portuguese team’s next commitments for the Nations League. The Wolverhampton goalkeeper José Sá, injured, leaves the list of summonses and is replaced by the Betis goalkeeper. Claudio Bravo, Rui Silva’s partner in the ranks of Real Betis and with whom he has been alternating in goal, has been left out of the Chilean team’s call for the tour of Japan and South Korea, like other historical like Alexis Sánchez and Arturo Vidal, although in the case of BRavo the goalkeeper is absent due to a muscle injury suffered in the match played a few weeks ago against FC Barcelona.

In a statement, the Portuguese Football Federation announced that Sá “was considered unfit by the FPF’s Health and Performance Unit.” Rui Silva, therefore, interrupts his vacation and joins Diogo Costa and Rui Patrício in Fernando Santos’ list of goalkeepers. This season, Rui Silva played a total of 32 games for Betis in all competitions, becoming Copa del Rey champion.

In group 2 of League A of the League of Nations, Portugal plays against Spain, at the Benito Villamarín in Seville, on June 2, a match for which his partner in the ranks of Real Betis William Carvalho is also summoned, while in the Spanish team there is no representation of Verdiblanco players.

After facing Spain, Portugal will play at the José Alvalade stadium in Lisbon against Switzerland (June 5) and the Czech Republic (June 9). The fourth match of the League of Nations will be played in Basel, against Switzerland, on June 12.
