Portland Thorns FC Has announced the regular season schedule for the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League.

Portland Thorns FC has announced the regular season schedule for the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League.

Portland Thorns FC has released its regular season schedule for the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League, which is being sponsored by Alaska Airlines.

On Saturday, March 16, the team will play Kansas City Current in their brand-new stadium, CPKC Stadium.

This will be the third game of the season. The game will start at 10 a.m. PT and be shown on ABC, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+.

Thorns FC’s home opener will be a week later, on March 24. NY/NJ Gotham FC will come to Providence Park. The game will start at 4 p.m. PT, and fans can watch it live on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+.

This year, Portland will play 26 games, twice against each team, once at the stadium and once on the road.

The last regular-season game of the year will be at Providence Park on November 1 at 7 p.m. PT against Angel City, and it will be streamed on Prime Video.

The 2024 season is the first of the league’s historic four-year domestic broadcasting agreements alongside CBS Sports, ESPN, Prime Video, and Scripps Sports on ION Network.

These agreements mean that 121 games, including 113 regular season games, all seven playoff games, and the 2024 NWSL Challenge Cup, will be shown on national platforms all through the season.

Three Portland Thorns FC games will air on CBS and two more on CBS Sports Network. Five games will be streamed on Prime Video and nine will be shown on Scripps Sports.

Because the league’s playoffs have grown, eight teams will make it to the quarterfinal round, which will take place over the weekend on November 9th and 10th. The semifinal round starts on November 16 and 17 and the NWSL Championship is on November 23.

The National Women’s Soccer League released its schedule for the upcoming season. The schedule includes plans for how the games will be shown on TV as part of its new $60 million-a-year media rights deal.

They will play in the Challenge Cup on March 15 at New Jersey’s Red Bull Arena. Gotham FC won the NWSL title in 2023, and the San Diego Wave won the Supporters’ Shield last year.

The next day, the Portland Thorns played against the Kansas City Current in the brand-new CPKC Stadium, which was the first stadium ever built just for a professional women’s team.

This was the first game of the regular season. The game is going to be shown all over the country on ABC. Find out about all of Thorns’ shows here.

“It’s where we belong,” Portland Thorns player Sam Coffey said of the extra attention. “Every team within this league and every female athlete should be here.

It’s really exciting to know that we have a chance and are on national TV. We got here after a long time, but things are moving slowly but surely.

It was announced last November that the league had signed a new media rights deal with CBS Sports, ESPN, Prime Video, and Scripps Sports. Altogether, these platforms will show 113 regular-season video games, seven playoff games, and a Challenge Cup.

Bay FC, the new expansion team for the San Francisco Bay Area, will play its first game on March 16 at Angel City in Los Angeles. On the first day of the season, the Utah Royals, who are also new to the league, host the defending champion Chicago Red Stars.

The season ends on November 3. It will be eight teams instead of seven in the playoffs, which will begin on November 9 and end on November 23. The championship game will be shown on CBS over prime time.

Friday games during the regular football season will be shown on Prime Video. Scripps’ ION network will show two games every Saturday.

ABC, ESPN, and ESPN Deportes, as well as CBS or its sports channels, as effectively as Paramount+, will all show a set of games.

It will be possible to watch games that aren’t shown on TV on NWSL+, the league’s direct-to-consumer streaming service.

The 14 teams in the league will play 26 regular-season games, with some being played at home and others away.
