Piqué talks about Alves and shows his support for the alleged victim: “If it has happened, you have to be very hard with him”

Gerard Piqué gave his first interview on Tuesday after separating from the mother of his children, Shakira. In addition to this and other matters related to his business and his retirement from sports, he has also spoken about the controversy of his former teammate Dani Alves, accused of alleged rape and imprisoned without bail since Friday the 20th of January.

“It is a very complicated issue because I know him and I appreciate him. it’s very fucked up for everyone, for him and for those of us who were his companions. Justice has to make its way. I want to wait for what the judge says, and from there, help the victim above all in the processor”, has confessed the ex blaugrana head office in The world in Rac1.

Milan and Sasha’s father still hasn’t assimilated what happened: “It’s something very complicated. Me as a former teammate, the feeling that you know him, and then the feeling that you don’t know him. When you’re a teammate, you share everything. You see him perform in the locker room and you would never think about it. It seems that it is like that and you stay in a state of ‘shock’ that you do not expect”.

Piqué has been forceful against the Brazilian full-back: “If it’s true that it happened, you have to be very hard with him and with everyone. I am totally against these people who defend yes is yes, no is no, we have to respect each other. It would be inflexible and very hard, in case this is so.”

The hit of the Super Cup

Among other issues, the former culé player has also spoken about the controversial million-dollar commission he received through his company Kosmos for acting as an intermediary for the Royal Spanish Football Federation so that the Spanish Super Cup was played in Saudi Arabia. Case that he is being tried in court.

“I don’t think Rubiales [presidente de la RFEF] have helped Barça. I do not regret having signed that agreement, the issue is how to explain it. The only conflict of interest is that, thanks to this, the Spanish Federation is that the referees will go in favor of Barça for me… It doesn’t make any sense. When I played it, we didn’t win it once and we fell in the semifinals. I maintain my relationship with Rubiales,” he said.

About the ‘Negreira’ case

Shakira’s ex has also spoken about the last great controversy that clouded FC Barcelona. The club is being investigated for the payments made to former referee José María Enríquez Negreira between 2014 and 2018. “We did not know that the club paid this man (…) I would put my hand on the fire that Barça has not bought referees. If you want to buy a referee, it’s very easy, stay with him and give him an envelope”.
