Piqué does not train and is in danger for the Classic

Between the fact that the right knee does not quite respond in a satisfactory way and that Ronald Koeman is not willing to risk in any way, it seems clear that Gerard Hammered every day that passes has more difficult to reach the Classic. As we announced exclusively on Sunday in AS, Piqué had been worried for a few days because he continued to have discomfort in his right knee and at the club they had not quite found the key to solve it. The center-back, who had made it his priority to play against Real Madrid on April 10, saw all his illusions collapse at a stroke, especially after the morning session on Saturday, where he tried to prove himself with the group and had to stop when feeling very uncomfortable.

Right now, all the alarms in the club are on. And the thing is that Piqué continues to have bad feelings with only four days left for the game. So much so that this Tuesday it was decided that he would exercise separately with the group and wait until Thursday's training to try again, in a last almost desperate attempt. Some information pointed out that the medical services and even Piqué himself did not rule out the possibility of infiltrating to be able to play on Saturday, but club sources consulted by AS, assured that it was a “very remote” option because there were more risks of relapse than anything else.

Obviously, today only a miracle would open the doors for Piqué to Friday's call, especially considering that Koeman already announced at a press conference that he is not willing to take any more risks after having suffered three relapses this season ( Sergi Roberto, Ronald Araújo and Piqué himself) for the rush of wanting to reappear early to help the team.

In addition, it must be borne in mind that Piqué has barely completed a training session in the last month, so his lack of competition rhythm is also a serious handicap in order to think that he may be available for this Saturday. If there is no improvement in the next 48 hours, Piqué's comeback roadmap would be postponed for a week and set with the goal that he could reach the Cup final on April 17 against Athletic Bilbao.
