As the year 2023 is about to end, and contrary to what some media published, the five children of the Infanta Doña Pillar of Bourbon, Simoneta, Bruno, Juan, Luis and Fernando, They have not managed to sell their mother's house in Puerta de Hierro. A home valued at about three million euros.

In May it will be four years since, as we previewed, the nephews of Don Juan Carlos put the mansion up for sale, which has a thousand square meters built, spread over three floors, with classic architecture, typical of one of the favorite environments of the aristocracy and wealthy people, established in that elegant and elitist environment from the 50s and 60s of the last century.

Today, they live in the most traditional urbanization in the capital, Isabel Preylser, Jose Hidalgoowner of Air Europa, as well as some of his children. Several residences of ambassadors accredited to Spain are also located there. Puerta de Hierro was also the area of Madrid chosen by Don Juan de Borbón and his wife Mrs. María de las Mercedes, counts of Barcelona, to establish their residence upon their return from the long exile experienced by the Royal Family in Portugal.

On Sundays, the Duchess of Badajoz, a great cook, and her husband, gathered their parents there and King Juan Carlos often went to lunch at the house of his older sister, who was also his confidant and advisor. Doña Pilar and her husband Luis Gómez-Acebo lived with her children in Puerta de Hierro and Doña Pilar, now widowed, remained there until her death in January 2020.

Since then, to his children It costs them a fortune for the minimum maintenance of the family home which, on the other hand, would need a good renovation for the next tenant who buys it. On the other hand, the enormous 2,400 square meter garden and swimming pool They are very well cared for by the same staff that took care of them during the Infanta's life. This maintenance represents a significant expense, expensive for the heirs to assume. On some occasions, Doña Pilar's children and grandchildren have celebrated birthday parties at her parents' mansion where the family has reunited again. There are purchase offers but, to date, no sales agreement has yet been closed. Today, the luxury real estate market is concentrated more in La Moraleja or La Finca, in Pozuelo de Alarcón.
