Pietro Fittipaldi will continue as Haas reserve driver in 2023

The American Formula One team MoneyGram Haas has confirmed this Tuesday that the Brazilian Pietro Fittipaldi will continue, for the fifth consecutive year, as a test and reserve driver for the 2023 season, after driving in the last two races of the 2020 World Cup.

“MoneyGram Haas F1 Team is pleased to confirm its continuing relationship with Pietro Fittipaldi as Official Test and Reserve Driver for the 2023 FIA Formula 1 World Championship,” the team said in a statement posted on its website.

The 26-year-old grandson of two-time FIA ​​Formula 1 world champion and double Indy 500 winner Emerson Fittipaldi will play an operational role on track throughout the season and support the team with off-track commercial and digital duties. .

“I am very excited to start after a very competitive season. Last year I did two free practices, I tested at the beginning of the year and at the end of the season, so we have already been able to test a few things for the new season. I am excited to see the new car. I hope we can take an even bigger step with the VF-23,” said the driver.

Fittipaldi will once again be the reinforcement of the Danish Kevin Magnussen and the German Nico Hülkenberg, who replaced Mick Schumacher as the team’s starting driver for this season. The German, from another famous family of drivers, also joined Mercedes as a reserve.
