This Friday, the president of the Barcelona Management Board, Carles Tusquets, had summoned the three candidates for the presidency at 7:00 p.m. to discuss the possibility of signing Eric García again, either with a view to January or June. Víctor Font, one of the presidential candidates, wrote a letter to Laporta arguing the need for the signing. The meeting, however, has been called off, which does not mean that the matter can continue to be discussed until Monday, when the market closes. In fact, Tusquets may initiate a round of phone conversations with the candidates to take up the matter.
Hours later, the president of the Management Board confirmed that there will be no conclave with Laporta, Font and Freixa for Èric Garcia. “There will be no meeting. The conditions have not been met. If Èric Garcia is coming or not, ask the candidates,” contributed. “We are managing everything perfectly,” Tusquets assured the media upon entering a colloquium at the Círculo Ecuestre in the Catalan capital.
The positions are clear. Víctor Font wants to sign Eric García and ensures that it has the mechanisms so that the economic impact does not exceed 230,000 euros this season. Laporta refuses in resounding to sign him and also has warned Tusquets not to do so.
Freixa leads a third way, which is to sign the player now and incorporate him in June. That is the theory also defended by the president of the Management Company, Carles Tusquets, who has also called Ramon Planes to chapter. The technical secretary was going to be this afternoon at the meeting called off.
