The coach of Real Valladolid, Paulo Pezzolano, assured this Sunday that “the two goals that mark the bulky result” of their defeat against Atlético de Madrid (2-5), during matchday 32 of LaLiga Santander, were due to the intention of his pupils to “go find” their rivals for the 3-3 that never came.
“It was a match in which there was a moment for both sides. The result does not reflect what the match was. But the truth is, the only thing I can say is that I am proud of these players for the rebellion they showed against one of the best in LaLiga”, Pezzolano told the Movistar Plus microphones after the match.
“The second half was all ours. In the end, by going to look for them, we conceded the two goals that mark the bulky result. Me with these players, to war; the truth is spectacular”, stressed the coach of the Valladolid team after a tough controversial defeat.
Midway through the second half, a handball from mattress maker Saúl Ñíguez at the exit of a corner kick was not sanctioned as a penalty, in what could have been 3-3. Pezzolano, before that, described as “excellent” the work “of the referees in the field”; However, he criticized the referees in charge of the VAR for not having warned of the maximum penalty.
