Peter Lim fulmina a Anil Murthy

Anil Murthy ceases to be president of Valencia “with immediate effect”. Peter Lim has informed him in Singapore that his time at the Mestalla club has come to an end. The audios revealed by the former president during a lunch with businessmen, in which he unraveled, without knowing them, the internal ins and outs of the club, and the social tension of Valencianism with the ownership of Meriton Holdings, exemplified by the demonstration in the outskirts of Mestalla on the last day of the League, have been the straw that has broken the camel’s back for Murthy’s permanence in the Valencia offices.

In a more extensive and conciliatory statement than usual with the institutions and fans of Valencia, the Board of Directors of Valencia, meeting in Singapore, has totally distanced itself from the “personal opinions of Anil Murthy”, which were leaked in the conversation with businessmen, emphasizing that they are not “Valencia CF’s opinions”.

Therefore, after five years in the presidency, “The Council considers that a change in leadership is required to restore credibility of the fans and the community in order to position Valencia CF on the path to success. With immediate effect, Anil Murthy will cease to be president and employee of Valencia CF.”

The decision to dispense with Anil Murthy opens a period of search for a new president for Valencia. for now, Sean Baiuntil now director of the Academy of Paterna, becomes the interim General Director, while the director Khojama Kalimuddin will assume the position of President of the Council to supervise the administration “during this period” of the election of the President.

The Board of Directors of Valencia focuses on the figure of Anil Murthy the bad relationship that exists between the club and Valencian society. “The Board values the importance of a close relationship between the Club, society, the fans, government authorities, the media and other actors linked to Valencia CF,” he points out as the reason for Murthy’s termination.

“The Council will immediately begin a search process to identify a new President of Valencia CF, and an announcement will be made in due course. In the meantime, Khojama Kalimuddinnon-executive director of Valencia CF, will assume the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors to supervise the administration of the Club during this period”, he added.

Finally, in the statement, “the Board wishes to reiterate that Valencia CF is fully committed to its long-term growth and success and complete the construction of the New Mestalla. We look forward to working together with fans, authorities and other stakeholders to achieve these goals.”
