Pérez-Reverte, beaten in networks for criticizing the educational system: “It stinks of classism”

Arturo Perez-Reverte He has messed it up again with his latest statements in which he criticizes the youth of our country and the Spanish educational system: “You cannot treat the brilliant student the same as the one who does not have the talent.” Criticism has rained down on the writer on social networks, where he has been branded classist, egocentric and reactionary.

The RAE academic expressed his opinion on the Spanish educational system and its failures: “Stimulate the brilliant student. Help the one who is not, but do not try to bring the brilliant student down to the level of the one who is not, because then you will you are carrying them all”, he confessed this Wednesday in the anthill.

After his interview with Paul Motorcycles, social networks began to boil. They reminded the former war reporter that the public education system he criticizes aims to guarantee equal opportunities and not to train elites, as occurs with private or concerted education, or happened during the dictatorship in Spain.

the author of The Adventures of Captain Alatriste He also criticized the poor preparation in Spain of the new generations to get ahead: “Young people are not prepared for the Titanic iceberg.” He argues that we are raising “boys too comfortably ensconced in an unreal world… Young helpless for when the blackout comes.” Again, before this almost apocalyptic statement, Twitter users have “explained” what are the real conditions of the present and future youth of our country. They have turned to criticism.

Known names, such as the singer Ishmael Serrano, have ridiculed the opinions of the literary author by making him ugly when he attacks young people and points out their irresponsibility or little preparation. Serrano has described it as a dangerous, warmongering message and “militaristic pessimism.”

In addition, some other user of social networks has shown “the brilliance” of the author of novels by posting a screenshot with a headline that recalls his status as a plagiarist: “Arturo Pérez-Reverte pays more than 20,000 euros for the plagiarism of a script “.

Another tweeter wanted to summarize what happens every time the academic gives his opinion or intervenes on television: “He could talk about interesting things… But every time he goes on TV, what he says is that people are stupid.”
