Pellegrini: “We never went out to draw”

SEVILLA, 5 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The coach of Real Betis, Manuel Pellegrini, stressed this Wednesday that the Verdiblanco team “never goes out to draw” and hopes to achieve victory this Thursday at the Olympic against AS Roma to take an “important step” towards qualifying for the next Europa League stage.

“It’s an important game, but it’s not decisive because mathematics says that neither team qualifies. We are two important teams and we are going to try to win it from the first minute. Winning would be three important points that, if not one hundred percent , they would leave us quite close to qualifying”, he said at a press conference with Luiz Felipe.

In this sense, the Verdiblanco coach indicated that his team is always looking for victory. “We never went out to draw. We are going to go out to win from the first minute. We didn’t go out with the intention or desire to seek a point. If we win, we take an important step towards qualifying,” he stressed.

Pellegrini reported that the team “arrives well” physically, that it has “all the available players” and that Franco-Algerian midfielder Nabil Fekir, who played 45 minutes “due to medical indications” last weekend in Balaídos, “does not has no problem” to play this Thursday in Rome.

Regarding his relationship with the Portuguese coach of Roma, José Mourinho, he pointed out that he has a “correct relationship” after his exchange of statements in the past, and that “each one is the owner of his words.” “Dybala? He is one of the many important players that Roma has. The club has invested a lot of money in making a competitive team,” he said.

For his part, the Italian-Brazilian Luiz Felipe declared that any player “dreams” of playing a match in front of 60,000 spectators. “We are used to playing in front of 55,000 spectators. What counts is our attitude, how we go out on the pitch. This city and Lazio will always be in my heart. I have won titles and now I am with Betis and I am going to give it my all. Mourinho It has changed the mentality and the work of a club like Roma that hadn’t won anything for a long time,” he said.
