Pellegrini: “The motivation to play in Europe must be even greater”

Manuel Pellegrini, technician of the Real
Betis, has talked about the possibilities of sealing the European classification in one of the two games to be played this week, on Thursday against Eibar and on Sunday against Huesca at Benito Villamarín. “It is a math issue. We can win and Villarreal win, so we would continue to be the same distance from being sixth. Let's see what happens with the Real and the possibility of finishing fifth, we have to think about finishing with the maximum possible points while mathematics does not give us the achievement achieved, although winning seventh place in Eibar would be assured ”.

The Chilean coach looks good to his team of forces in this final stretch. “The team is doing well, with a significant load of matches but at an optimal level. We have always been pushing in the last minutes, I see the whole team. Three games in six days is an excessive burden so we are going to evaluate which will be the best team to start tomorrow and Sunday ”, he explained at a press conference this Thursday.

Pellegrini wait a Eibar on the rise, which hurries his chances of permanence after winning his last two games and that he already won at Benito Villamarín: “It will be a very complicated Eibar, fighting to maintain the category, the motivation to stay is very great but to play in Europe it must be even bigger. He played a good game for us here and we played very badly, let's hope the outlook is different now ”.

The Chilean technician assures that the Betis will not change his style of play in Ipurua: “The best way to win the most points is as we have been doing for the last four months, where we have only lost two games.. Wanting to change the way of playing to get better results we would have done it games back, not now. We will go to Eibar but always favoring the way to earn points ”.

Pellegrini He hopes to be able to offer soon, if possible this Thursday, the qualification for European competition to the Betic fans, who have once again become excited about their team. “It is true that we have not been able to enjoy the fans inside the stadium, but I already know them before, I know the importance of the fans but the team is aware of the importance of giving an achievement to a fans that have suffered in health . So it would be a great merit for this team, we think that in every empty seat there is a fan behind and the achievements will be for them ”.
