Pellegrini overcame worse situations

Manuel
Pellegrini has already overcome numerous bad streaks of results such as the current one suffered by the Real Betis
-Six defeats in the last eight games- throughout his long career, which in Spain started with two losses and three draws in his first five league games in front of Villarreal in 2004-05, just after winning the Intertoto in August in the final against Atlético.

That 2004-05 season, Pellegrini managed to leave Villarreal on the LaLiga podium for the first time in its history, third, and the next seventh. In 2006-07 he left him fifth after overcoming a series of 6 defeats, a draw and 2 victories in nine league games. In 2007-08 he was runner-up in the league and in 2008-09 he returned to leave Villarreal fifth after overcoming another series of 5 losses, 3 draws and 2 wins in nine games.

His start at Malaga in the 2010-11 season -which finished eleventh- was not good at all, signing 7 defeats, a draw and only 2 victories in his first ten league games – a much worse balance than the current one with Betis -, while in the 2011-12 season they classified Málaga 4th, for the Champions League, after overcoming a series of 6 defeats, 2 draws and 2 victories between matchdays 15 and 24.

With Málaga 2012-3 he finished 6th, although he could not enter UEFA

In the 2012-13 season, Málaga finished LaLiga 6th, although they did not join UEFA for reasons related to financial Fair Play, after losing 5 of the last 9 League games (three wins and one draw) after the tough and unfair elimination in the quarterfinals of the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund.

At Betis, Pellegrini made his debut winning his first two games, but then he has only won two of the next eight, losing the remaining six, a bad run that he has overcome on previous occasions and did not prevent him from succeeding either at Villarreal or at the Malaga. With Real Madrid he was runner-up in the League in 2009-10, with 96 points, after losing only 4 games (Barça was champion with 99 and a single defeat).
