Pelé: “I'm getting better every day”

Pelé accompanied his message with a photograph in which he appears sitting in a chair with his fists in the air, in a corridor of the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, where he has been admitted since August 31 and underwent surgery on September 4 after a suspicious tumor was detected in the colon. The former Santos y Cosmos striker spent several days in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after surgery, although shortly after they raised him to the floor suffered a “brief respiratory instability”, which is why he was transferred to semi-intensive care.
