MADRID, 9 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez congratulated the men’s football team on Friday after winning gold at the Paris Olympics after beating France.
“What a great game, what nerves, what a way to excite an entire country and what a way to win an Olympic gold!”, celebrated the head of the Executive in a message he posted on the social network X. “Proud of our team. Go, Spain!”, he wrote.
The team won gold after beating France, this year’s Olympic host, 3-5. With this victory, the Spaniards have won the medal that eluded them in Tokyo 2020 against Brazil.
With this result, the men’s team has won its second gold medal in history, the first being in Barcelona 1992.
