Pedro Sánchez and Feijóo remember Pepe Domingo Castaño: “A voice that has made our lives happy”

The acting President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, said goodbye this Sunday to the Galician journalist Pepe Domingo Castaño, who died this morning in Madrid three weeks after turning 80, who with “his optimism, his closeness and his sympathy” accompanied “for years millions of Spaniards.” Feijóo also said goodbye to his countryman, referring to the journalist as “a voice that has brightened our lives.”

In a message on his X account, Sánchez indicated that Castaño was “a journalist who changed the way we watch television and listen to the radio.”

Sánchez, who this Sunday will participate in the PSG-PSOE rose party in the Coruña town of Sigüeiro and then will travel to New York to participate in the UN general assembly, has concluded his condolences on the internet by saying “thank you” to Castaño and wishing him a rest in peace. Castaño died in the Madrid Zarzuela hospital “suddenly, surrounded by his loved ones,” according to Cadena COPE.

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, for his part, also said goodbye to the announcer this Sunday. “Today the world of radio loses a reference and we all lose a voice that has made our lives happy,” wrote the former president of the Xunta de Galicia on his X account, in a message in which he also highlighted that Castaño He was an “illustrious man from Padron, like Cela and Rosalía.”

Núñez Feijóo, who this Sunday plans to participate in a PP event in Santiago de Compostela, added in his condolences: “RIP, friend Pepe. My love to his family and friends.”
