Pedro Martínez enters the final draw of the Australian Open

MADRID, Jan. 17 (SportsFinding) –

Spanish tennis player Pedro Martínez got his ticket on Friday to play the final draw of the Australian Open, the first 'Grand Slam' of the season that starts next Monday in Melbourne, after overcoming the previous phase.

The Valencian player, 22 years old and current 168 of the ATP ranking, will play the second 'big' of his career after opening last year at Roland Garros, where he fell in the first round against the Swiss Henri Laaksonen.

The one of Alzira surpassed in the first place to the German Julian Lenz by a clear 6-0, 6-1 and in his second party he defeated the Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas by a double 6-3. Martinez had a veteran like Czech Lukas Rosol, executioner of Rafa Nadal in Wimbledon in 2012, but he remained very solid and took the ticket to the final draw in two sets (6-4, 6-2).

This Saturday, they will try to emulate the ilicitano Mario Vilella, who will face the French Mathias Bourgue, and the Gipuzkoan Lara Arruabarrena, who will do it before the Japanese Nao Hibino.
