Pedro Martínez and Carreño say goodbye to Auckland and Nuria Parrizas falls in the first round of Hobart

The Spanish tennis players Pedro Martínez and Pablo Carreño were eliminated this Tuesday in the Auckland tournament, of the ATP 250 category that is played on a hard surface, after losing to the French Gael Monfils and the Czech Jabuk Mensik, respectively, while Nuria Parrizas was eliminated from the Hobart tournament, in the WTA 250 category that is played on a hard surface, after being defeated by the Belgian Elise Mertens.

Pedro Martínez lost to Monfils in the round of 32 of the ATP 250 in Auckland (1-6, 7-6(5), 6-3) in a match in which the Frenchman managed to turn the match around after a first set in which the Spanish was much superior. For his part, Pablo Carreño was also eliminated from the New Zealand tournament after losing against Mensik (6-2, 4-6, 7-5), a duel that he managed to equal after losing the first set, but that in the decisive round was He ended up escaping after a break in the last game.

Furthermore, in the WTA 250 tournament in Hobart, the Spanish Nuria Parrizas could not overcome the first round and was defeated in two sets (6-3, 6-1) against the Belgian Mertens, the number two seed in the tournament. A match in which Parrizas suffered a lot with his serve, conceding five breaks in his eight service turns.
