Pedro Martínez accesses the final table of Roland Garros after overcoming the previous phase

MADRID, 25 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Pedro Martínez will be in the final draw of Roland Garros, the second ‘Grand Slam’ of the year and which is played on clay in Paris, after overcoming the three matches of the previous phase, becoming the eighth national representative in the draw which is celebrated this Thursday.

The Valencian easily beat Belgian Kimmer Coppejans in the first match of the qualifying round (6-3, 6-1) and Frenchman Dan Added in the second (7-6, 6-2) to meet in the final duel with the Argentine Facundo Bagnis. The match went uphill, when his rival took the first set (2-6), but in the second, the Spaniard recomposed after raising a match point to take it 7-5 and close the match with a 6-0 score. Martínez was the only Spanish representative in the men’s draw, while in the women’s a total of five tennis players have taken part. Marina Bassols, Rosa Vicens, Jessica Bouzas and Leyre Romero fell at the first exchange, while Aliona Bolsova will play this Friday the pass to the final phase against the Slovenian Tamara Zidansek.
