Pedro Cachín and Marco Trungelliti, to the final in Madrid

The Argentineans Pedro Cachín and Marco Trugelliti will contest the final of the Community of Madrid Challenger after defeating the first two favorites of the tournament, Roberto Carballés and the Brazilian Thiago Monteiro, respectively. Cachín, 212 in the ATP ranking, beat Carballés, top seed, 7-5, 6-2 in one hour and 41 minutes. The 27-year-old player from Córdoba aspires to his third title in this category after those obtained in Seville, in 2015, and in Oeiras, Portugal, last year.

Cachín beat Carballés for the first time. The two previous duels between the two ended with a victory for the Spaniard who could not reach the final in Madrid. Trungelliti, for his part, overcame Monteiro, second seed, in two tiebreaks (7-6(1) and 7-6(5)) after two hours and fourteen minutes of play. Trungelliti, 194 in the ATP ranking, also aspires to his third challenger trophy after those achieved in Italy: in 2018 in Barletta and in 2019 in Florence.
