Paula Badosa opens in Adelaide 2 with a solid win against Anett Kontaveit

MADRID, 10 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa made her debut this Tuesday at the Adelaide 2 tournament (Australia), in the WTA 500 category and played on hard court, with a victory against Estonian Anett Kontaveit in two sets (6-4, 6-3).

The Catalan, current number 11 in the world, did not have to face ‘break’ balls against her in a first set that she resolved by breaking her rival’s serve in the third game.

Already in the second set, she took the lead 2-0, and although the number 17 in the WTA ranking returned the break to equalize the set and go 3-2 up, she won the last four games and settled the contest on her second chance after a hour and quarter of play.

In this way, Badosa advances to the second round of the oceanic tournament, where she will face the also Estonian Kaia Kanepi, who in her first duel got rid of the local Storm Hunter (6-2, 6-2).
