Paula Badosa: “It’s hard for me to get up every time, but I still believe in myself”

MADRID, 24 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa confessed that it is “hard” for her to get up “every time” something happens to her, but that she “continues to believe” in herself, after being defeated in her debut at the Mutua Madrid Open against her compatriot Jessica Bouzas.

“It’s hard for me to get up every time, but I still believe in myself. My level of tennis is there, but I have to recover a lot emotionally,” Badosa commented at a press conference after his farewell to the tournament.

The former world number two regretted her defeat after “a complicated match” in which Bouzas “played very, very well.” “I obviously don’t and I’m disappointed. I really wanted to come to Madrid and I expected more, but I can’t ask for much more,” she acknowledged.

“I really like tennis, I like to compete, but I don’t like how I am or see myself where I am. I have always had very high expectations, since I was young it has been said that I have great potential and I have experienced very great emotions and being in the highest, but it is difficult for me to even be in the club, I am not who I would like to be and every week I am disappointed, today because of the level of tennis, before because of the injuries,” said the tennis player.

Finally, regarding her physical condition after her injury in Stuttgart (Germany), the Spaniard said that what had affected her was her “level of tennis.” “Physically it is what it is, if I enter the court it is because I am ready. I have no choice but to continue training,” she concluded.
