PARIS, Aug. 31 (by EUROPA PRESS special correspondent Ramón Chamorro) –
The Paris Paralympic Games will begin this Saturday, August 31, their third day of sporting competition, in which the delegation will have the chance to increase its medal tally, which currently has seven medals, one gold and six bronze.
The third day of competition at the Paris Paralympic Games will once again bring medal opportunities for Spanish athletes, especially in athletics and in the swimming pool, a key day for Teresa Perales.
In the morning, attention will be focused on the Stade de France where Kim López will try to win his third consecutive gold medal in the F12 weight class for people with visual disabilities, where he will compete alongside Héctor Cabrera in a test to which he arrives after having overcome a complicated stage of physical problems, but strengthened after being world champion last May.
In addition to the Valencian thrower, there will be another serious medal option in the form of long distance runner Yassine Ouhdadi, who will try to win the 5,000 metres T13, where he is the current Paralympic and world champion. Sara Andrés Barrios and Eduardo Uceda will complete the Spanish participation in the T64 and 400 metres T11.
Attention will then turn to La Défense Arena, where Spanish swimming will be well represented as usual and where the laureate from Aragon Teresa Perales will seek her 28th Paralympic medal in the event in which she theoretically has the best chances, the 50-metre backstroke S2. Íñigo Llopis (100-metre backstroke S8) is also aiming for a medal, which María Delgado (100-metre backstroke S12) also wants to fight for.
