Paris 2024 | Update on Spain’s participation in the eighth day of competition

PARIS, 5 Sep. (by EUROPA PRESS special correspondent Ramón Chamorro) –

The Paris Paralympic Games will begin their eighth day of sporting competition on Thursday 5 September, during which the delegation will have the chance to increase its medal tally, particularly through cycling, swimming, athletics and shooting.

The event will start at 9.30 with the competition of the road cycling events for handbikes, with Sergio Garrote as the best contender in the H1-2 class, while at La Défense Arena the focus will be mainly on the 200m medley SM9 with Nuria Marquès, Anastasiya Dmytriv and Sarai Gascón.

Juan Antonio Saavedra will be looking for his second medal in the 50m prone rifle and Martín de la Puente will try to surprise the world number one at Roland Garros to qualify for the individual wheelchair tennis final. Judo will also start with Daniel Gavilán and María Manzanero and Álvaro del Amo and Héctor Cabrera will be options in athletics.
