Paolo Rossi dies

It is a terrible night for Italian and world football: Paolo Rossi has passed away at the age of 64. It was the hero of the 1982 world champion Azzurra, Pichichi of the World Cup in Spain and Ballon d'Or in the same year. The news came this morning, announced by Enrico Varriale, deputy director of Rai Sport, and published by all the Italian media. Federica Cappelletti, wife of 'Pablito', published an image of both on their social networks confirming the sad rumors: “There will never be anyone like you, unique, special. After you, absolutely nothing …”.

Rossi wore, among others, the shirts of Vicenza, Perugia, Juventus (with which he won two scudetti, a Recopa, a UEFA Super Cup and a European Cup) and Milan, and in recent years he dedicated himself to being a commentator on several television stations of the Bel Paese. Italy mourns the forward of that Nazionale capable, thanks also to the six goals signed by 'Pablito', of beat Brazil, Argentina, Poland and Germany in the final at the Bernabéu. In his career as a professional footballer, Rossi added 340 games and 134 goals. It will be a Thursday of mourning for the Italians. One more in this terrible 2020.
