Pachín, historic Real Madrid player in the 1960s, dies

Has died Enrique Perez Diaz, better known as 'Pachin', Mythical player of the Real Madrid from the '60s to the 82 years. This has been announced by the club through a statement in which it conveys its condolences to family, friends and all of Real Madrid.

Born in Torrelavega, Cantabria, in 1938, the defender joined the white team after military in Besaya, Sniace, Torrelavega, Burgos Y Osasuna. It was part of two generations. Both of the most historic and successful of the club.

First, next to Di Stefano Y Puskas, of which he raised five Cups from Europe. Years later, of the ye-yé generation, with footballers of the stature of Pirri, Gento or Amancio. In total he won two European Cups, seven Suspenders, one Cup Intercontinental and one Cup from Spain.

He was a versatile player, valid for any of the defense positions thanks to his great physical capacity and his forcefulness. Several Italian teams tried to sign him, but his dream was always to play in white. He became international with the Spanish team on eight occasions, playing the Chile World Cup in 1962.
