Atlético de Madrid announced this Sunday night the dismissal of its coach Óscar Fernández, shortly after the defeat (1-0) in the derby against Real Madrid that kept the rojiblancas out of the Champions League positions.
“Óscar Fernández will not continue as coach of the first team of the women’s first team. The current sporting situation, in which the team is out of the positions that give access to the Women’s Champions League, has caused the coach from La Mancha to be dismissed” announced Atlético.
The Madrid team released the statement around midnight with the end of Fernández’s stage, who took charge of Atlético on July 1, 2021. “From the club we appreciate his work and professionalism during his time on the first team bench feminine and we wish her the best of luck”, adds the official note.
