Ordino Arcalís invests a million in technology, new experiences and renewing its gastronomic offer

MADRID, 19 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Andorran resort of Ordino Arcalís will launch the ski season on November 27 and will extend it until April 24 if weather conditions allow it, and will invest one million euros in technological innovation, new experiences and in renewing its gastronomic offer.

This was announced this Thursday by those in charge at the presentation in Madrid of the 2021-22 winter season, in which they also highlighted the construction of the Solar de Tristaina Viewpoint, which has had a great reception this summer in the Principality.

At a strategic and business level, the main novelty is the implementation of dynamic prices, which makes the Grandvalira Resorts complex the first ski area on the Iberian Peninsula to apply this variable price system.

With regard to sporting competitions, Ordino Arcalís remains one of the world’s elite in off-piste skiing with the three-year renewal of his contract with Freeride World Tour. The competition will return to the station between January 30 and February 5, while the Borrufa Trophy will celebrate its 30th anniversary from January 24 to 27.

DYNAMIC PRICES

Grandvalira Resorts incorporates a new strategy for the sale of ski passes this winter season with the introduction of dynamic prices. This formula is already common in airlines or the hotel sector, and is based on a fluctuation of the amount according to the time of year and the day of the week, so the station can adapt the offer to the demand.

The new system, which has been implemented in collaboration with the Swiss consulting firm Pricenow, encourages the use of digital channels of the ski area, since it will only be available on the Grandvalira and Ordino Arcalís websites, where daily passes can be purchased at the price guaranteed minimum.

In this sense, customers who book their ski passes earlier will be rewarded with cheaper prices, which can be up to 15% cheaper than at the ticket office.

Grandvalira Resorts is the first ski area on the Peninsula to implement this variable price system which, in turn, will also have the advantage that it will make it easier to control the daily capacity at the station.

SAD VIEWPOINT

The Tristaina Solar Viewpoint has been the great novelty of the summer throughout Andorra. About 85,000 people visited the new structure since its inauguration on July 9, being able to contemplate the 360-degree panoramic views it offers of the Ordino valley and the entire glacial cirque of Tristaina, with its three lakes.

The monument is formed by a ring 25 meters in diameter and is located on the Peyreguils peak, at 2,701 meters. During the winter season, the viewpoint continues as an attraction for the most experienced mountain skiers.
