Only two promotions after changing technician

Coaching changes are not always synonymous with success at Almería. Two of his four stays in the top flight were achieved after a change on the bench, he did so, with those continuous decisions by Alfonso García, who did not believe in the figure of the coach. However, when it comes to promotions, only two of the seven that the rojiblanco club has achieved in its history have been with more than one coach in the same season, raining since I did it for the last time like this. In case of celebrating Rubi in a month and a half, I would 26 years later Almería rose after a change of coach.

The first ascent of Almería in its history was in 1992. Antonio Oviedo began the campaign, being struck down after winning Pavía and with the team second due to the differences with Pepe Cayuela, not being a supporter of Valencia de Alcántara that part of the squad would train in Malaga. It was precisely Cayuela, who went from the offices to the green, which certified the promotion in Plasencia that June 3 with a 6-0 to Baza. The following season the rojiblancos were promoted to Second B after winning in Palencia. They did it with Juan Antonio Román on the bench, a tandem with Cayuela, by resigning the first also contrary to that division of labor between Almería and Málaga; however, the resignation was not accepted and the season ended.

The next promotion was in 1995, the first to the professional category. JI osé Enrique Díaz started the season, leaving after matchday 30, when Almería fell in Granada, the third consecutive defeat. Again Cayuela to the rescue, achieving the Malaga classify for the promotion league after eight victories in the eight days that remained. A 0-3 in the Ciudad Deportiva del Valencia meant promotion.

Since then, whenever Almería has risen in category, it has done so with the coach who started the season. Salmerón achieved it in 2000 after a victory in Puertollano in the league for promotion to Second B. Two years later Casuco managed to return the rojiblancos to the LFP, where they have not yet come from. The Murcian also led the Almeria team from start to finish. In 2007 it was the ascent of Emery, who despite being on the rope day after making a 0 of 9 in his debut as rojiblanco, ended up going up five days in advance. In 12-13 Gracia did the same after also being in the pillory; a year before Alcaraz was dismissed with a UDA that finished seventh and that in the change of tenant of the bench was fourth.
