Oier Ibarretxe achieves a ticket to the Games in the Bangkok pre-Olympic

MADRID, 1 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish boxer Oier Ibarretxe obtained his passport for Paris 2024 this Friday in the world qualifier that is being held in Bangkok, where Gazi Jalidov was left without options.

Ibarretxe, current European under-22 champion, secured his Olympic place at -63.50 kg by beating the American Emilio García in the quarterfinals of the Thai event.

The Basque thus joins the Spaniards already classified: Laura Fuertes (50 kg), José Quiles (57 kg) and Enmanuel Reyes Pla (92 kg). In Bangkok, Jenifer Fernández (-57kg) and Rafa Lozano (-51kg) are still searching for the ticket to Paris.

Meanwhile, Gazi Jalidov (-80 kg), Olympian in Tokyo 2020, lost in the quarterfinals and will not be able to repeat his presence at the Games.
