Official: Adama has a replacement

Wolverhampton made the arrival of Chiquinho official this Monday through their network profiles. The winger, who until now worked at Estoril, arrives at Molineux in exchange for 3.5 million euros. At 21 years old and with just fifteen games in the Portuguese First Division, the man from Cascais arrives in England as a promising talent and unleashing rumors about the departure of one of the team’s stars: Adama Traoré.

The Spanish international has been ringing for weeks to leave. At 25 years old, Adama is one of the references of the Wolves, but after several seasons of outstanding performance, this one is having a hard time turning his good deeds into goals and assists. His statistics are remarkable in terms of shots on goal, success in dribbling or scoring opportunities, but these are not completely decisive as in previous campaigns.

Although that performance does not occur at Wolves, Antonio Conte believes that he is capable of getting it at Tottenham. The Italian has placed Adama Traoré as one of his most important market targets and there is already a proposal from Spurs to the Molineux club for 24 million euros according to ESPN. If the information that points to a possible exit follows one another, the signing of Chiquinho does nothing more than increase the probability of it happening.

The other team for which Adama Traoré signs

The goal slips away from Adama this season, but the powerful winger managed to break the streak this day against Southampton. After Ward-Prowse put the visitors close on the scoreboard with a great free-kick, Adama sealed it to make it 3-1. Traoré received in three quarters of the court, started and defined with precision. If the goal was good, the most commented was the celebration. He took off his usual black gloves and wore white ones and covered his face with his hands in front of the cameras. These captured the anti-racist message that it wore to spread it around the world.

“It’s just a gesture. My small gesture. My gratitude to all those who have fought and continue to fight for so many years against racism. They have also been my inspiration to have faith and pursue my dreams. I encourage you all to have faith and continue chasing your dreams,” the footballer wrote on social networks, explaining his gesture.

This is not the only one. Nor his only signing. In the absence of confirming whether he will leave, what is certain is his incorporation into Common Goal, one of the largest teams in the world led by Juan Mata, being the first to donate 1% of his salary to NGOs that use football to transform the society. More than 200 players and coaches in the squad between them Pernille Harder, Paulo Dybala, Vivianne Miedema, Jurgen Klopp, Serge Gnabry, Christiane Endler. There is also national representation in addition to Adama and Mata in Dani Olmo and Irene Paredes.

Adama thus joins the initiative’s anti-racist program. “Too often, racist actions make headlines in football. If I have learned anything in my career, it is that leading with actions and not empty words is what makes the difference. I join Common Goal to stand up to racism through the anti-racist project. For me,
it is important to use my platform to be part of the solution. I know that my 1% alone is not going to fix this problem, and that my voice alone is not going to solve systemic racism. But, if more colleagues join in this collective effort, the impact we will achieve will be truly significant.”he explained. A system in which you seek to perform and improve.
