Of Bruyne, the key of the City

Erling Haaland was the main protagonist in the celestial orbit after his signing, but the focus of attention fell on De Bruyne again. Manchester City is four points away from the league title. A lot of blame for this lies with the Belgian. In the big games he is always there. He appears at decisive moments, like Wednesday at Molineux.

His performance was sublime. Another one in another brilliant season. A season that he hopes to close with the fourth Premier League title in five seasons. He seems to be in a hurry to confirm it. Just as in Wolverhampton he was in a hurry to win the game. He opened the can after seven minutes, putting City back ahead just five minutes after Leander Dendoncker’s equaliser. Angry, annoyed. He felt bad that someone dared to doubt City and its capabilities.

He put the equipment on his back. His sense of smell led him to always be in the right place. He was where he had to be at the time he had to be. He was a magnet that attracted every loose ball in the immediate vicinity of the area. And also inside her. De Bruyne took advantage of this circumstance to achieve his first hat-trick for Manchester City. Third fastest in Premier League history. 24 minutes were enough.

In the second half he achieved a poker. After achieving a triplet with his less bad leg, the left, and in the second half he scored with his right foot to sign a poker. He became the fourth Manchester City player to score four goals in an away game in the Premier League. The goals achieved in Molineux helped him improve his best scoring record in a single season. He has scored 19 goals this season in all competitions. 15 of them in the Premier League.

After Wednesday’s game, Pep Guardiola praised Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian holds the key to success for City. “In the last two or three months he has been amazing. He is being our key player in this final stretch of the season. And it’s not just the goals anymore, it’s everything he creates. He helps us a lot. I’m happy because he always has this nose for assists, he’s very generous and always thinks about what’s best for the team. But we try to encourage him, because we have to win games and we have to score goals. They have already told me that it is being his most prolific season”.
