Núria Castán recounts her odyssey in Canada: “I have not been able to count on my material”

The Spanish rider finishes last in the second test of the FWT after losing her suitcases and a fall

MADRID, 20 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish rider Núria Castán regretted this Tuesday not having been able to count on her equipment in the second test of the 2024 Freeride World Tour circuit, held in the Kicking Horse ski resort (Canada), where she came last after having suffered an “odyssey “.

“Canada has been an odyssey, I have not been able to count on my equipment with which I feel comfortable competing and training. I have tried to do everything possible but the track conditions were very rocky and I have not been able to execute what I had planned,” Núria Castán highlighted in statements to her press office.

Despite competing with borrowed equipment and suffering a fall that relegated her to last position, the Spaniard assured that she gave herself to the “maximum”, but that she must “improve.” “Sometimes you win and other times you lose, so I've learned a lot. I want to focus on what's next, which is Georgia. I still have a chance of qualifying for the FWT finals and I think I have the level to be there,” analyzed.

Until practically the last day she did not know if she could count on her material, preventing her from being one hundred percent concentrated during the competition week. Despite this setback, Núria remains third overall, so the result of the next stop in Georgia will be key to being present in the FWT finals, where the top four finishers will participate.
