Now comes the market final against Liverpool for Gavi

After losing to Real Madrid on the pitch at Saint Denis, Liverpool changed rivals and prepared to play a longer final against Barça in the offices. The British parked any movement in the market until last night, but now they are beginning to plan their new project. And to Barça’s concern, Gavi is part of their strategy.

The young Barcelona international, only 17 years old, ends his contract with the Blaugrana club on June 30 of next year and negotiations for its renewal are stalled. This same week, Joan Laporta explained in an interview with L’Esportiu that “his representative has had the renewal offer on the table for a long time. We have no news that they have accepted it. The news we have is that he is comparing and at some point he will have to say something. We have already stated our position and, at the moment, it is not accepted by the player’s agent”. His representative is none other than Iván de la Peña, who was quick to clarify that he has been waiting for an offer from the Blaugrana club for some time.

In the background of all this, Liverpool’s interest in the footballer coexists with the fact that Barça has signed, waiting for it to be official, Kessié and Christensen with the letter of freedom with a salary that is haggled over Gavi and that Sergi Roberto has been renewed. A combination that has not sat well with Gavi’s agents, who by the way prioritizes Barça’s offer over any other.

The second derivative of Liverpool’s influence in the Blaugrana market for next year is the option that Sadio Mané, who, like Gavi, ends his contract with the Reds, next season could be transferred to Bayern Munich as Sky Sports advanced on May 10.

If these negotiations are confirmed, the Bavarian team would have agreed on a substitute to cover the possible departure of Lewandoski, a player that Xavi has already publicly acknowledged is his top priority to be the team’s benchmark for next season. This fact would open the possibility for the Pole to leave, but It remains to be seen if the exchange between a young man as promising as Gavi, 17 years old and with a whole career ahead of him, should be the price to pay to save the furniture next season in exchange for a 34-year-old player.
