Not a Madrid player among the 23 best in the Champions League

For the second year in a row, Real Madrid has no representative among the 23 best players in the Champions chosen by the UEFA to make the ideal eleven. The two consecutive eliminations in the round of 16 against Ajax of Amsterdam and Manchester City have caused some losses of continental status after chaining the three consecutive Champions League between 2016 and 2018, when the team led by Zinedine Zidane signed the best streak in the modern history of the competition.

The only representatives of LaLiga are Leo Messi (Barcelona) and Jan Oblak (Atlético), while there are only two Spaniards among the 23 selected: Thiago Alcantara (Bayernn) and Angelino (Leipzig).

The champion, Bayern, monopolizes the list of 23 chosen with 9 representatives: the goalkeeper Manuel Neuer; the defenders Alphonso davies, Joshua Kimmich and David Alaba; the media Thiago Alcantara and Leon Goretzka; and the attackers Thomas muller, Serge gnabry and Robert Lewandowski.

The quoted Jan Oblak and Anthony Lopes complete the list of three goalkeepers and Virgil Van Dijk (Liverpool) and Upamecano, in addition to Angelino, are also among the defenders, while Kevin De
Bruyne (Manchester City), Houssem Aouar (Olympique Lyon), Marcel sabitzer (Leipzig), Marquinhos (Paris Saint Germain) and Papu Gomez (Atalanta) form as midfielders.

In the attack, in addition to Lewandowski and Gnabry, the technical observers of the UEFA they have selected Kylian Mbappé and Neymar, finalists with PSG; Messi (Barcelona) and Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), both eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Champions League this season.

GOALKEEPERS: Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich), Jan Oblak (Atlético de Madrid) and Anthony Lopes (Olympique Lyon).
