MADRID, 23 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish men’s handball team will face Norway this Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the World Cup that is taking place in Sweden and Poland, after the Norwegian team beat Germany in the last match of Group III of the Main Round.

Norwegians and Germans played on Monday for first place in this group and to become the rival of the ‘Hispanics’, and the victory went to the Nordic team in a disputed match decided in the final stretch in their favor by 26-28.

The Norwegian team, led by center back Sander Sagosen, is one of the undefeated teams in the championship, where they have won everything and is already an ‘old acquaintance’ for Jordi Ribera since they have met in the last three major international events.

The last confrontation between the two was in the Main Round of the 2022 European Championship, with a clear victory for Norway 27-23. Before, in Tokyo 2020, there was a Spanish victory by 28-27 thanks to a penalty with the clock to zero, while precisely in the quarterfinals of the 2021 World Cup, the ‘Hispanics’ took the ticket to the semifinals by 31- 27.
