MADRID, 25 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
British driver Lando Norris (McLaren) won the Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday, the fifteenth round of the Formula 1 World Championship, ahead of Dutchman Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing), while Spaniards Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) and Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) finished fifth and tenth respectively.
The Zandvoort Circuit was filled with 305,000 spectators in its stands during a poor start by McLaren. Not in vain, Norris was overtaken there by Verstappen while the other papaya car, that of the Australian Oscar Piastri, gave up third place to the British George Russell (Mercedes).
However, Norris maintained control of the stage and overtook ‘Mad Max’ on the inside on the home straight as they entered lap 18. Skillfully, the British McLaren driver maintained the lead for the rest of the race and, as he completed the 72nd and final lap of the track, he crossed the chequered flag in the lead and set a fastest lap in 1:13.817.
