“No, I don’t regret coming, but it’s not an easy team”

The interim coach of Manchester United, Ralph RangnickHe said he has no regrets about accepting the Old Trafford job, but admits he’s not happy with what his side have achieved so far.

United have won three of their last 12 games in all competitions and sit seventh in the Premier League standings, six points off fourth place and bottom of the Champions League with seven games remaining.

Rangnick joined United on an interim basis in November following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has led the team to nine wins in his 22 games in charge so far.

“No, I don’t regret it at all,” he told reporters ahead of Saturday’s home league game against Norwich City. “I would do it over and over again. As a coach, you always have to ask yourself what you could have done better, but I have no regrets. We are all aware that it is not an easy team and the whole situation was not easy or I would not be sitting here and Hey yeah.”

“We have shown in the last few months that we have raised the bar, but not in the same regular way that I would have liked. That is the reason why I am not at all happy with what we have achieved so far.”

Rangnick, 63, will be caretaker manager until the end of the season before taking on a consulting role at the club for a further two years. United are looking for a permanent manager, with British media reporting that Erik ten Hag (Ajax) is the likely candidate for the top job.
