Torino and Parma signed the tables (1-1) this Saturday, in a match on the twenty-fifth day of Serie A that marked the return of the Italian championship after more than one hundred days of stoppage due to the coronavirus.
After the competition resumed in Italy with the semifinals and the final of the Coppa Italia, won this Wednesday by Naples in Rome against Juventus, the Turin Torino Olympic Stadium was the venue for the first match of Serie A after the suspension due to the pandemic.
El Torino faced him with a special shirt with the writing “Thank you to our heroes” on his chest, to show his gratitude to the national health corps for their contribution in the fight against the coronavirus.
And the Turin team, which came from six consecutive defeats and only added two points of advantage over the descent, went ahead after 15 minutes with a great head goal from Cameroonian Nicolas N'Koulou to a corner kick launched by the Spanish Alejandro Berenguer. The former Marseille player celebrated the 'bullseye' by kneeling to protest the death of George Floyd, the African American killed by a police officer in Minneapolis (United States).
But the advantage of the locals only lasted a quarter of an hour, since Parma, who arrived at this event just four points from the European zone of the classification, equalized thanks to the Slovakian Juraj Kucka, with a powerful left-footed shot from the front of the area.
Torino were the team that sought the victory the most and had their best opportunity as soon as the second half began, but Andrea Belotti missed a penalty against goalkeeper Luigi Sepe. Neither Simone Edera, with a header from a comfortable position, managed to break the victory drought of her team.
With this 1-1, Torino stayed fifteenth, with three points of margin over the red zone, and Parma was seventh, three points behind Europe.
