Nikita Tromp, the talent that comes from the Netherlands

Last March, the Rosengard player Hanna Bennison was selected as the best promise in world football after winning the 2021 NxGn Awards. It was a full-fledged warning of the potential of this young woman who leads a new generation of footballers destined to reign for years to come.

Bennison won the award ahead of another of the European pearls that everyone talks about, the Dutch Nikita Tromp, del Ajax.

Nikita is breaking in with force to take over from his compatriot Vivianne Miedema, one of the world’s biggest stars, as well as Barça’s Lieke Martens, two stars who highlight the brutal growth of women’s football ‘oranje’. For many years, Miedema herself held the record for the most goals scored in the UEFA Women’s Under’17 European Championship … until Nikita Tromp improved it by seven.

Surpassing the achievement of such a renowned scorer has put Tromp in the spotlight. He left Ajax when it began to emerge to have more prominence in a team of the Eredivisie, scoring 5 goals in 12 games for PEC Zwolle. He later returned to the Amsterdam club, scoring four goals in his first five games. The 18-year-old player falls in love with her game and is a firm candidate to win the Promise Trophy that will be delivered on November 15 at the Old Estrella Damm Factory in Barcelona, by the hand of DAZN.

It will have to compete, of course, with proper names that shine abroad such as Jule Brand (Hoffenheim), Lauren May Hemp (City), Haley Bugeja (Sassuolo), Vicki Becho (Lyon), Svenja Fölmli (Freiburg) and Maya Le Tissier ( Brighton), among others.

The Champions, more attractive with DAZN

DAZN’s commitment to the Women’s Champions League goes beyond the broadcast of the 61 matches of this competition. It also offers a more attractive production, since DAZN has been awarded the broadcasting rights (‘host broadcaster’) and will use more cameras, more accesses to ‘behind-the-scenes’ and a renewed style of its own. There’s more original programming, spreading self-produced titles and new shows showcasing the greatness of women’s football, as well as hundreds of VOD (Video on Demand) clips a year on YouTube.
