Nick Saban’s child Kristen Saban Setas talks about his decision to step down as Alabama coach.

The college football world was shocked when Nick Saban retired. His daughter said that his choice to step down as head coach of Alabama football is “bittersweet.”

With some extra time on her hands on Sunday, Kristen Saban Setas held an “Ask Me Anything” event on her Instagram account.

She answered a dozen questions on Instagram stories about how her dad made his big news, her favorite times at Bryant-Denny Stadium, and other things.

Saban said he was leaving the NFL on Wednesday night. Fans were able to understand what Setas’s father was thinking that day, thanks to her brother Nicholas. In her words, she learned that he had made the final choice “on my flight to Florida.”

“That morning, my mom informed me that it was being seriously considered but wasn’t 100% sure,” she shared.

My dad didn’t entirely decide on it until he took some time to arrive at a decision and ultimately made it.

The setting also said that Terry, mom, and Nick’s wife are not suffering from dementia, as was said.

Saban had already said that neither he nor Terry were sick, which is what made him decide to quit teaching.

When Nick Saban announced on Wednesday that he was stepping down as head coach for the Alabama Crimson Tide, shock waves went through the country. Everyone who has seen the goat’s famous career has had something to say about it.

Fans filled our feeds on social media. Mrs. Terry delivered a message, and Coach Saban gave us a short goodbye statement.

Coach Saban’s daughter, Kristen Setas, has made a short comment about her dad’s shocking exit.

As you might guess, this is a very emotional time for Kristen. Her whole life has been football, and she has seen her dad reach the top of the sport many times.

Greg Byrne, the director of athletics at Alabama, asked Nick Saban for help in finding a new coach to replace the famous one who had just resigned, and he got it.

“He was amazing,” Byrne said on Saturday when pressed about Saban’s role in the search, which officially ended with Washington’s Kalen DeBoer being hired as Alabama’s football coach after only 49 hours.

But even though it was clear that Saban wanted to help Byrne make the best choice, that does not imply he was determined to lead Alabama’s AD toward a person he had taught before.

Saban and DeBoer had never met because DeBoer had been to many places as a coach that Saban had never been, like Sioux Falls (S.D.), Fresno State, and finally Washington, where he went 25-3 in two seasons.

DeBoer and Saban didn’t talk until just hours before hiring for the job. The search took only two days.

“We talked on multiple occasions during it, so it would’ve been foolish on my part if I hadn’t utilized teacher Saban within the search process.”

Later on Friday, DeBoer accepted his employment offer, and soon after, he was on a plane to Tuscaloosa.

Saban and his wife, Terry, sat in the front row at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday for DeBoer’s first news conference as head coach. Byrne said that Saban’s desire to help find his replacement didn’t surprise him.

Nick Saban, the famous coach, said he was leaving the Alabama Crimson Tide on Wednesday night, after 17 years with the team.

The university released a message in which Saban thanked the people of Alabama. He also said that he didn’t measure his achievement by wins or losses, but by how he changed the lives of young men.

She said that her parents’ non-profit group, “Nick’s Kids,” has given almost $12 million to nonprofits that help kids in Tuscaloosa and other places.
