Newcastle confirm Tonali faces ban for illegal betting

MADRID, 18 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Newcastle United wanted to confirm this Wednesday that its player Sandro Tonali is under investigation by the Italian Justice and the Italian Football Federation in relation to activity related to illegal betting.

“Sandro is fully committed to the investigation and will continue to cooperate with all relevant authorities. He and his family will continue to receive full support from the club,” the Premier team says in an official statement.

Both Tonali and the forward on loan at Aston Villa Nicolò Zaniolo left the Italian team’s concentration last Friday after learning that they are being investigated by the Turin Prosecutor’s Office.
