New Zealand Tournament Makes Pro Tennis Bounce Back

On Monday, New Zealand Tennis informs everyone that it is all set and ready to host the southern hemisphere’s first professional tournament. It will be the very first tournament of the southern hemisphere that most people and fans are waiting for. Since the COVID-19 lockdown due to the outburst of deadly Coronavirus, everyone is waiting for the tournament to happen.

New Zealand Tennis All Set For The Tournament

The men’s Premier League tournament will be going to take place in Aukland next month. It will be featuring a total of 24 amazing and energetic players who will be competing against one another in three teams. The tournament will happen at spectator-free arenas and will be going on for three weeks.

New Zealand Tennis high-performance director Christophe Lambert provides info about the tournament. He says that the tournament, which will be going to begin on 3 June, will pit ATP veterans against the NZ’s Rising Stars.

Christophe Lambert says, “The NZ Premier League offers opportunities for our best players to have a home-base competitive environment so they are ready to jump back in when the pro circuit starts again”.

There will be several stars in New Zealand who will be taking part in the upcoming tournament. Britain’s Cameron Norrie, world’s number 77 will be taking part with several of Davis Cup Players of the country. So it will be an amazing and exciting watch to have all the energetic players playing in the tournament.

If we are talking about the Grand Slams then it is suffering through much lately. The French Open did postpone due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Also, the U.S. Open is considering switching the venue from New York if the crisis does not seem to be easing.

The ATP does not have any better plan to begin the tournament play before early in August. Meanwhile, the WTA tour is hoping to get the game back to the calendar in Palermo on the 20th of July. Almost everyone is currently praying for everything to be back to normal as soon as possible.
