Netflix and Skydance Sports announce a documentary series about Rafa Nadal

MADRID 18 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Netflix and Skydance Sports have teamed up to produce a documentary series about the life and career of Spanish athlete and tennis icon Rafael Nadal, a series that will include unprecedented access to Nadal as he returns to competition in 2024 after being away from the court. for much of 2023 due to injury.

The docuseries will focus on Nadal’s stellar career, as well as his life off the court, showing never-before-seen footage from his personal archive and through unprecedented access to the tennis star, his family and his close circle of coaches and counselors.

The champion of 22 Grand Slams, 14 of them at Roland Garros, ended his career last November during the Final 8 of the Davis Cup in Malaga. Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Zach Heinzerling (Stolen Youth, Cutie and the Boxer, McCartney 3,2,1) directs the as-yet-untitled docuseries, which is produced by David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold, Jason Reed and Jon Weinbach for Skydance Sports. .

“I never thought I would do something like this, but I received a call from David Ellison and his words along with the project they put before my eyes convinced me to do it. You will be able to see what my life has been like throughout my career and especially during this last year that has not been easy at all. You will also be able to see how my life and my career have evolved over the years,” said Nadal himself.
