Neres and Tadic put Ajax in the hype

Ajax, who already beat Young Boys 3-0 in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16, reached the quarter-finals on Thursday with another victory against the Swiss team (0-2). It was David Neres and Dusan Tadic (author in addition to the assistance of the first goal) who scored the goals of the ‘ajacied’ team in Bern. After this placid tie, now those of Erik ten Hag await a rival in this Friday's draw.

Eager to put up a good image and stand up to Ajax, the Young Boys were the ones who had the first chance of the night, a shot from Jean Pierre Nsame. Lisandro Martínez avoided the goal. The Helvetians had a good start to the match in this second round against the Eredivisie leader.

In the 21st minute David Neres put Erik ten Hag's team ahead by scoring assisted by Dusan Tadic, which put even further away from the Helvetians the move to the next round, which in fact had practically lost from Amsterdam with the 3 -0 embedded in the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Ajax's second goal was a penalty. The referee ruled the maximum penalty by Mohamed Camara and the person in charge of transforming it was Tadic. The Serbian, once again protagonist: goal and assistance. Another blow for the Young Boys, led by the Swiss of Spanish origin Gerardo Seoane.

Nsame had a goal disallowed for offside in the 54th minute, which left the Young Boys without achieving the goal of honor in this tie that only had color ‘ajacied’. The outcome was written and the Swiss team said goodbye to Europe for this season. Ajax, who won the 1992 UEFA Cup against Torino and lost the 2016-17 Europa League final against Manchester United, are pushing ahead.

Ajax have not lost yet in 2021. Their last defeat dates back to the last day of the Champions League, 0-1 against Atalanta.
