MADRID, 5 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The forward Andrea Vilaró and the center Nerea Hermosa have been the discards of the national coach, Miguel Méndez, for the Eurobasket, which takes place between June 15 and 25 in Slovenia and Israel, according to the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB). this Monday in a statement.
The two players have left the concentration of the Spanish team after finishing the preparation tournament held in Córdoba. After sweeping Turkey (76-37) and maintaining the good line against Belgium (72-54), Méndez has decided to do without both players, before the team travels to Hungary this Thursday to play their last two games before Eurobasket.
The coach wanted to thank the “participation” and “passion” of Hermosa and Vilaró during the concentration. “They are in very good shape and they are part of this team, just like they will be part of the result we get in the championship. We will see each other very soon,” predicted the coach in statements shared by the FEB.
In this way, the call is reduced to 13 players who will play the last two friendlies in Hungary against the local team -Silvia Domínguez, Cazorla, Ouviña, Romero, Leonor Rodríguez, Queralt Casas, Quevedo, Conde, Torrens, Ginzo, Laura Gil, Raquel Carrera and Pendande-. All will be available to Méndez for the double confrontation this Friday (6:00 p.m.) and this Saturday (5:00 p.m.).
