MADRID, 13 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Nearly 1,500 athletes will participate this April 15 and 16 in the third test of the Farinato Race national obstacle course circuit, which will be held in the Madrid town of Miraflores de la Sierra with 61 percent male participation and 39 percent of women.
The race changes location and highlights the rural environment in Miraflores de la Sierra, which replaces San Martín de la Vega and 45 kilometers north of the capital of Spain.
On Saturday, the 3-kilometer tests (initiation, young farinatitos, family), the duels, the 13-kilometer elite, the teams and the individual category will be held. For Sunday there will be the 7 kilometer tests (elite, competitive, popular teams and individual) and the farinatitos from 300 to 600 meters.
Among the obstacles to overcome are different trenches, one of them electric, the inclined wall, the tubes, the pools or the handrail over water. All of them before taking the final leap over the fire and receiving the precious finisher’s medal.
“This year we change from south to north, recovering the essence and returning to our origins, offering a more sustainable experience and playing with natural environments. We want to value the most rural areas of the Community of Madrid”, declared Rubén Morán, organizer of the Farinato Race circuit.
Miraflores de la Sierra is the third stop on the 2023 Farinato Race circuit after Cangas de Onís (Asturias) and Mérida (Badajoz). Afterwards, the following appointments will be in Ponferrada, on May 13 and 14; Ciudad Rodrigo, in October; and Seville, on November 4 and 5.
