MADRID, 3 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal will face a recovery process estimated at five months after his recent arthroscopic surgical intervention due to an injury to the left psoas tendon and which has already kept him away from competition for several months.
Nadal’s own press team has confirmed this Saturday that the player from the Balearic Islands will immediately begin “his progressive functional rehabilitation” and also that “the normal recovery process is estimated at five months, always taking into account the biological times of said structure”. .
The surgery was performed last Friday at the Teknon Clinic in Barcelona by doctors Marc Philippon, Jaume Vilaró and Ángel Ruiz-Cotorro. “The surgery has been positive, it consisted of cleaning the fibrotic and degenerated areas of the tendon both proximal and distal, as well as suturing it to adequately reinforce it,” the note specified.
“In a second half, an old injury to the labrum of his left hip was also regularized, which will surely help the better evolution of the tendon”, concluded the press team of a Nadal who has already set 2024 as a possible end to his successful sporting career.
