Nadal: “It will be a very tough final, Djokovic likes to play here”

MADRID, Jan. 11 (SportsFinding) –

The Spanish tennis player Rafa Nadal said they will live a “very hard” final against Serbia in the ATP Cup, which is being held in Sydney, because its main player, Novak Djokovic, is a specialist in the Australian hard track where the title is played Sunday.

“It will be a very tough final against Serbia. Novak (Djokovic) likes to play here and Serbia has a great team. They are playing very well,” the Spanish number one warned. However, Nadal also highlighted the advantages that 'the Navy' has. “Roberto (Baptist) played an incredible game this afternoon,” he said.

“We also have a good team, so we are ready for the final,” said the Balearic after getting the decisive point of the semifinals against the local Álex de Miñaur (4-6, 7-5, 6-1). “It was a difficult start because Alex played at a high level and my energy was somewhat lower than usual. Friday was a long day in difficult conditions,” he recalled.

“There are times that you need to have an open mind to find solutions. It happened to me in the game, I couldn't win many points backwards in the second set. I needed to change something and that was what I did. I gained meters and (…) I took the pressure to the other side of the track, “Nadal said in statements collected by the ATP.

For his part, Roberto Bautista acknowledged that they are “used” to play this “type of games”. “We have to continue giving the best of ourselves and that is what Spain does every time it jumps to play,” finished the Spaniard, who felt “great” after defeating Nick Kyrgios in a round match (6-1 and 6 -4).
